See how I decorate for Halloween? Very demure. So mindful. 🖤✨ Has anyone else noticed the popularity of neon Halloween decorations this year?! I couldn't help myself seeing all of these fun colors (especially the neon pink!🩷) so I wanted to share this fun small party idea straight from my imagination - ghosts + bows. 👻🎀 I love this adorable twist on the traditional spooky decor! In fact, you could easily switch up this theme with your favorite Halloween character and insert bows into the mix in case you prefer something like zombies to ghosts? Or maybe pumpkins? 🤔 I just personally love how cutesy ghosts look with a bow on. 🎀 Check out all of the small party details below and get inspired for your spooky season soiree this year!

I absolutely love how this theme comes together! 🖤🩷 Like I mentioned above, this theme could easily be versatile with a different creature, or a different color so feel free to mix it up! I love showing the tablescape as a whole because you can see I don't have a large dining area, and you don't need a ton of items to throw a themed party in your house. I always stick to decorating just the dining area and it still creates that magic for my girls along with a cute, Instagram worthy set-up that everyone will enjoy. 😊
For the table, I often elevate it with a simple table runner or tablecloth to set the mood - like this awesome 'Boo' runner from Salem Apothecary and I always make the cake the centerpiece to minimize decor. Also, I saw these neon ghost pillows at Target and decided to surprise my girls with them on their seats. 🤭

I found these adorable little ghosts at Target and decided to hang them from our chandelier above the dining table. I love how this made the party seem a bit larger than life to the girls! One detail that I didn't do - but thought would be super cute! - is to DIY little bows and glue them onto the ghosts' heads to bring the theme full circle. 🎀
Okay - I'm a little obsessed with these place settings as they bring the theme and colors together so gorgeously! 😍 I found most of these amazing items from Ellie and Piper Party Boutique other than the plastic forks (which I got from a local party store) and the bows for the cups from a small seller on Etsy. I love doubling up on the paper plates for two reasons: 1. There's plenty for both food and desserts and 2. Adding the layered plates is the easiest way to elevate and dress up your party area with minimal effort. It helps complete the look with practical decorations rather than ones you won't use.

When I do get additional decorations, I always try to find things that I can reuse in the future for various purposes, so I don't tend to get too many standalone decorations. I got this cute Halloween tray from Bubblegum Market (it's dishwasher safe + so cute!! 💖) that can be used for future Halloweens.
On the other side of the table, I just happened to run into this neon pink ghost at Home Goods when I was shopping with my oldest daughter and it felt like fate! 👻 I figured it would be a cute addition to the party decor and I could use it to decorate her room for upcoming years. The bow on the ghost was one I had kept from when she was a baby - I just taped it on temporarily for the look. 🩷✨
The cute little stuffed Halloween house was an impulse buy from Shop Sweet Lulu - BUT in my defense it was on sale at the time and my daughter loves it in her room for an extra cute spooky touch! 🤭
Finally, those awesome small, fuzzy pumpkins were yet another Target purchase that the girls have split between their rooms for decoration. 🎃
I had so much fun making this cake to go along with the theme! I wanted to create something simple but also challenge me on my free-hand skills so (somehow 🙈) I managed to create the bow, the eyes, and the smile on the fly. The bottom was created by adding extra buttercream to the base and using a small cake knife to pull up each section to create the ghost look. For flavor, I went with a simple funfetti cake with vanilla buttercream. When cut, the colors inside matched the decor on the table. 🖤🩷✨
